A working musician who loves to teach.
I've been playing guitar since I was a kid and I've spent most weekends since on stages around Pembrokeshire with several local bands. That's what I bring to every lesson: real, practical playing that sounds good quickly — not endless exercises.
Every student gets a plan built around the music they love. Whether you've never held a guitar, you've come back to it after twenty years, or you want to tighten up for your own band, we'll get you there at your pace — and have a laugh doing it.
Three instruments. Three ways to learn.
Acoustic guitar
Strumming, fingerpicking, singalongs and songwriting.
Electric guitar
Riffs, rhythm, soloing, tone and playing in a band.
Ukulele
The friendliest first instrument — chords in lesson one.
Lessons are available one-to-one, in fun kids' groups, or online wherever you live.
Big riffs. Loud amps.
There's nothing like the first time a riff you've learned comes roaring out of an amp. We'll build the foundations every rock player needs, then get you playing the songs that made you want to pick up a guitar.
- Power chords & palm muting
- Classic riffs, old and new
- Pentatonic soloing
- Bends, vibrato & hammer-ons
- Getting great tone: gain, EQ, pedals
- Playing tight with a drummer
Get on the one.
Funk guitar is the secret weapon of every great band. It's rhythm, groove and feel — and once your right hand locks in, it'll make you a better player in every other style too.
- Sixteenth-note strumming
- Muting & ghost notes
- Ninth & thirteenth chords
- Single-note funk lines
- Locking in with bass & drums
- Wah and clean tone
Sweet chords, sweeter grooves.
Soul guitar is about taste: lush chord voicings, gorgeous little fills and leaving space for the singer. It's where you learn to make two notes say more than twenty.
- Major 7th & minor 9th voicings
- Double stops & sixths
- Chord-melody fills
- Dynamics & feel
- Accompanying a singer
- Neo-soul colours
Twelve bars and a whole lot of feeling.
Almost every style you love grew out of the blues. Learn the shuffle, the 12-bar form and how to make a single bent note cry — and you'll have the keys to rock, soul and everything in between.
- 12-bar form & the shuffle
- Minor & major pentatonic
- Bends, slides & vibrato
- Slide guitar & open tunings
- Call-and-response phrasing
- Turnarounds & licks
Pull up a chair. Grab a cuppa.
The acoustic guitar is the perfect companion — round a campfire, at a session in the pub, or on the sofa on a rainy Pembrokeshire evening. We'll cover everything from your first strumming patterns to beautiful fingerstyle arrangements.
- Fingerpicking & Travis picking
- Strumming patterns for singalongs
- Open tunings like DADGAD
- Capo tricks
- Singing while you play
- Folk, Celtic & singer-songwriter
Four strings, endless smiles.
The ukulele is small, cheap, light and ridiculously good fun. It's a brilliant first instrument for kids (little hands love it) and grown-ups alike — most students are strumming a whole song by the end of lesson one.
- Your first chords, first lesson
- Strumming patterns & the "island strum"
- Fingerpicked melodies
- Singalong songbooks
- Great for kids aged 6+
- Easy stepping-stone to guitar
Group lessons for kids — the best fun in town.
Small, friendly groups where young players learn together, play real songs and build confidence. Guitars and ukes all welcome!
- Ages 7–11 and 12–15
- Max six players per group
- Saturday mornings & after school
- End-of-term mini concert for parents
Learning together is twice the fun.
Group lessons give children the buzz of playing in a band from day one. Everyone learns the same song, then we split into parts — rhythm, melody, even a little percussion — and put it together. Kids make friends, build confidence and practise more because they don't want to let the band down!
- Ages 7–11 & 12–15
- Max six per group
- Guitar or ukulele
- Loan instruments for the first term
- Fully DBS-checked tutor
- Mini concert every term
Your songs. Your pace. Your goals.
Private lessons are completely built around you. Tell me the music you love and where you'd like to be in six months, and I'll put together a plan that gets you there — with plenty of wins along the way.
- 30, 45 or 60-minute lessons
- A personal practice plan each week
- Tabs & backing tracks emailed
- Graded exam preparation
- Songwriting & home recording
- Getting gig-ready for your band
Anywhere with Wi-Fi is a music room.
Live video lessons work brilliantly for guitar and ukulele — same personal approach, same price, no travelling. Students join from all over the UK (and the odd one from further afield).

Do I need my own guitar?
Not to start! Come to your taster and we'll talk about what to buy — I'll help you avoid the expensive mistakes. Loan instruments are available for kids' groups.
Electric or acoustic first?
Whichever excites you most! The music you love is the best motivation. We can always add the other later.
What age can children start?
Around six for ukulele, seven or eight for guitar — but every child is different. A taster lesson is the best way to find out.
Do you teach reading music and tab?
Yes — tab, chord charts and standard notation, introduced as and when they're useful for you.
